Marketplace payments were unsafe without controls—unknown merchants, variable amounts, and fraud risk made traditional payment flows inadequate.
solution
I designed a pre-authorization system issuing time-, merchant-, and amount-restricted payment cards. Settlement occurred only after task verification, supported by audit logs and reconciliation workflows.
This system became a core trust primitive across the platform, enabling business models competitors could not safely support and significantly reducing disputes and fraud exposure.
